Maintenance Mechanic
This position is responsible for repair and maintenance of plant equipment and facilities while assisting to improve operational efficiencies and reliability. You will need to communicate with operations and support personnel to achieve operational goals and be responsible for following all good manufacturing practices and policies to maintain food grade processes. We work as a team and expect the successful candidate to be a team player.
This person will conduct themselves with integrity, upholding all company policies and procedures, including areas of human and food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. They will guide all works and actions with the principle "Do the Right Thing, Always."
Essential Job Functions
Repair and predictive/preventive maintenance of plant equipment and facilities.
The operation of welders, presses, grinders and other equipment to perform aspects of position.
Communications with operations and support personnel.
Document work performed in Maintenance computer system.
Following all safety policies and performing all safe work practices with documentation. This includes, but is not limited to, lockout tag out, preventive maintenance documentation, electrical safety, hot work program, grain handling standard regulations, Personal Protective Equipment, consulting with and following through on safety committee recommendations.
Following all good manufacturing practices and quality policies and procedures.
Maintaining clean work environment.
Participate in shift meetings discussing line and team performance.
Responsible for food safety and quality.
Ability to diagnose electrical issues.
Ability to work with boilers and air compressors.
Familiarity with grain handling and grain manufacturing process
Ability to remain alert throughout the workday.
Essential Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Industrial maintenance experience preferred.
1 to 2 years welding experience preferred.
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Millwright experience is desired.
Pneumatics experience.
Machining knowledge.
Power transmissions knowledge.
Knowledge of hydraulics.
Basic knowledge of compressors, boilers, steam/water systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and electrical
troubleshooting/wiring.
Physical Demands
Activities include: Walking, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pulling, pushing, sitting, standing, climbing and kneeling.
Occasional confined space work.
Occasional lifting up to 75 pounds.
Climbing multiple flights of stairs and ladders up to 125 feet in height.
Work in a variety of temperatures and weather conditions.
Exposure to many moving parts.
Exposure to grain dust.
Exposure to noise(PPE provided when required).
Work Conditions
The work week schedule is determined by the manager and includes on call time.
There is occasional overtime on weekends, and holidays and during the work week when business conditions require production
or maintenance support.
Work in all areas of the facility.
Work both inside and outside on all systems.
Work at heights.
